1. What is Crossmark?
Electronic Journal of Applied Mathematics (EJAM) may participate in Crossmark, a service provided by Crossref, to help readers verify the current status of a scholarly document and access any post-publication updates, if available.
When a Crossmark button (“Check for updates”) appears on an article landing page or within the PDF, clicking it will display whether the document is current or whether updates exist.
2. Scope of this Policy
This policy applies to journal content assigned a DOI by the publisher, including, where applicable:
- Research articles
- Review articles
- Short communications or notes
- Editorial content, where DOI-assigned
3. Editorial Policies and Publication Ethics
The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of editorial quality and publication ethics. Please see the following related policies:
4. Post-Publication Changes: What May Happen?
After publication, issues may be identified that require editorial action.
4.1 Minor Changes (No Formal Update Notice)
Minor changes that do not affect the scientific meaning of the article, such as typographical or formatting corrections, may be made without issuing a formal update notice.
4.2 Formal Updates (Tracked via Crossmark, where applicable)
When changes are substantive or require a formal record, the journal may publish an update such as:
- Correction / Erratum / Corrigendum: for errors that may affect interpretation but not the overall validity of the work.
- Addendum / Clarification: for additional information or clarification relevant to the published record.
- Expression of Concern: when serious concerns are under investigation.
- Retraction (full or partial): when findings are unreliable or serious ethical issues are confirmed.
- Withdrawal / Removal: in exceptional circumstances, such as legal or serious ethical reasons, while preserving the scholarly record as far as possible.
5. How Updates Are Presented
- The journal may publish an update notice, such as a correction or retraction notice, preferably with its own DOI.
- The update notice will clearly link to the original article, and the original article will link back to the notice where applicable.
- Crossref metadata may be updated so that Crossmark displays the correct document status.
6. What Happens to the Original Article After an Update?
- Corrections / Addenda / Clarifications: the original article remains available, with a clear notice and links to the update.
- Retractions: the original article generally remains part of the scholarly record, but is clearly marked as retracted and linked to the retraction notice.
- Removal / Withdrawal: in exceptional cases, access may be restricted, but bibliographic record and status information will be maintained whenever possible.
7. Reporting Errors or Concerns
If you believe that an article contains an error or raises ethical concerns, please contact:
- Email: ejamjournal@mersin.edu.tr
Please include the article title, DOI, and a clear description of the issue, together with supporting evidence where possible.
8. Crossmark Button Usage
Where implemented, the Crossmark button may appear near the article title on the article page and/or within the PDF. The button may be resized for layout purposes, but the Crossmark branding and design should not be altered.
